$20 million funding to get Keirnan Park Recreational Precinct underway!

10 August 2020

As part of the State Government's recovery plan, the McGowan Government has committed to $20 million in funding to establish the Keirnan Park Recreational Precinct.

The site is located on the corner of Keirnan Street and the South Western Hwy and includes plans for Netball courts, sports oval and a pavilion.

The Master-planning process is underway and the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale are very excited to be making good progress.

Whitby Community Manager, Sherryn Rietdyk says “Once complete, the Keirnan Park Recreational Precinct will be just over 2 kilometres from Whitby Estate.  Our residents and their families will be well placed to participate with the wider community in a variety of activities.

Facilities such as these provide wonderful services and amenities, but just as importantly – they provide opportunity for people to connect and engage with one another.   Connection has such a positive impact on a community – from sports team participation, to volunteering and informal neighbourhood support.    We are eager to see what the Masterplan involves and look forward to sharing it with our community!”
